The United Nations Environment Programme provides leadership and encourages partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. 1T.ORG was founded in 2019 to mobilize, connect, and empower the global reforestation community to conserve, restore, and grow one trillion trees by 2030. IT.org is a part of the World Economic Forum’s work to accelerate nature-based solutions in support of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). 1T.org is supported by the Marc and Lynne Benioff Foundation. Trees for Jane and 1T.org are working together in mutual support to plant 1 trillion trees.
The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) aims to prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of the plant’s ecosystems that support all life on Earth. The healthier our ecosystems, the healthier the planet—and its people. This effort can help to end poverty, combat climate change and prevent mass extinction. Trees for Jane and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration are aligned in their goals to protect forest ecosystems.
